Trifluoroacetamidine is used as a passivating agent to suppress defects in CsPbI₃₋ₓBrₓ thin films. The amidino group of trifluoroacetamidine can strongly chelate to the perovskite surface to suppress iodine vacancy defects, significantly reduce the defect density, inhibit non-radiative recombination, and enhance the adsorption of passivating molecules on the perovskite surface through additional hydrogen bonds. In addition, the three fluorine atoms can achieve strong intermolecular connections via intermolecular hydrogen bonds, thereby constructing a robust moisture barrier. Perovskite solar cells treated with trifluoroacetamidine exhibit significantly suppressed non-radiative recombination, achieving record efficiencies of 21.35% and 17.21% for device areas of 0.09 cm² and 1.0 cm² respectively, both of which are the highest among all-inorganic perovskite solar cells reported to date. The efficiency of the device under indoor illumination also reaches 39.78%, which is the highest among all-inorganic indoor photovoltaic devices. Furthermore, the device treated with trifluoroacetamidine retains 93% of its initial efficiency after 960 hours of aging, greatly improving the environmental stability of the device.

Using trifluoroacetamide as the raw material, reflux and separate water under the action of a catalyst to collect gaseous trifluoroacetonitrile, then pass trifluoroacetonitrile into DBU/liquid ammonia for reaction, add a polymerization inhibitor and distill to obtain trifluoroacetamidine.
